WORKSHOPS

Three times a year workshops are offered to the members of Co-Society, where they can attend exclusive practical sessions in innovation given by teams and people of worldwide expertise in the field. The workshops are also vital for the exchange of ideas between sectors that would otherwise never cross paths in innovation, with the aim of increasing the additional value of their products, services and processes.

At the first 2010 Co-Society workshop, a total of sixty professionals involved in the innovation of some twenty companies shared their wicked problems (complex problems that different businesses are faced with today, and which demand a polyhedric perspective, not only in the search for their solution but also in the definition of the problem itself). The participants at the workshop imagined how their companies would be in ten or twenty years’ time, in order to identify opportunities for collaboration and the hybridisation of ideas and processes between the different sectors.

The second 2010 workshop dealt with ways of re-thinking and refining a business model. From his latest book, Five Laws to Foresee the Future, Hiroshi Tasaka of Tama University in Tokyo shared with Co-Society members a dialectic application in identifying the opportunities of the future. In addition to the time devoted to networking, there was an innovation exercise with Design Continuum, one of the world’s leading innovation companies, based in Boston and with centres in Los Angeles, Milan, Seoul and Shanghai.
